Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MakeMyCVNow ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and MakeMyCVNow.

2. Description of Service

MakeMyCVNow is an online platform providing AI-powered CV and resume building tools, including template selection, AI-enhanced writing, CV import and generation, cover letter creation, CV gap analysis, job matching, and PDF export. The Service is available as a free tier and paid premium plans.

3. Accounts

Account creation is optional for basic features. When you create an account, you are fully responsible for maintaining its security and all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information, keep your login credentials secure and confidential, and notify us immediately of any unauthorised access.

You may sign in using Google OAuth or email and password. Please use a strong password to protect your personal data, CV content, and billing information.

MakeMyCVNow is designed for individual job seekers. Commercial use — including reselling, bulk CV generation for third parties, or automated access — is prohibited without written consent. Businesses interested in using MakeMyCVNow at scale should contact support@makemycvnow.com.

We cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with the above requirements.

4. Content

4.1 Your content

You are solely responsible for all content you create, upload, or generate using our Services. You retain full ownership of your CV text, personal information, uploaded documents, and generated outputs. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process your content solely to provide and improve the Service.

We may review content to determine whether it violates our policies, and may remove content in those cases — but this does not mean we routinely review content.

4.2 Our content

The Service — including its design, templates, code, AI integrations, branding, and documentation — is owned by MakeMyCVNow and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service.

4.3 Templates

CV templates are licensed for personal use in creating your own resumes. You may not redistribute, sell, or sublicense the templates themselves.

5. Responsible AI

We are committed to the ethical and responsible use of AI to help you build outstanding CVs. AI should complement — never replace — your personal judgement and career story.

• How we use AI — AI suggests content, recommends improvements, and optimises wording based on your input. Final content decisions are always yours
• Transparency — AI-generated suggestions are clearly presented as AI output
• Privacy — Your data is not sold or shared with AI providers for model training. See our Privacy Policy
• Fairness — We monitor AI output to minimise bias, but recommend you review all generated content for accuracy
• Limitations — AI tools are not a guarantee of employment outcomes. Recommendations are based on data patterns and best practices but cannot account for every employer's expectations

6. Subscription Fees and Billing

6.1 Free tier

The free tier includes 6 templates, limited AI CV generation (3 uses), 1 AI cover letter, 1 PDF download per session, and 1 CV Gap Analyser scan. No account or payment required.

6.2 Premium plans

Premium plans (7-Day Pass and Monthly) unlock all 10 templates, unlimited AI rewrites, cover letters, PDF downloads, Gap Analyser scans, Job Match AI, custom colours and fonts, and additional features as described on the pricing page.

6.3 Pricing and billing

Prices are displayed in your local currency based on your location. At the beginning of each billing period, you will be automatically charged for the full period. Prices may change with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers — via email or notice on the website. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance of new pricing.

The 7-Day Pass is a one-time purchase. The Monthly plan auto-renews unless cancelled.

7. Cancellation

If you no longer need our Service, it is your responsibility to cancel your subscription through your Account Settings before the next billing date. Upon cancellation you will receive email confirmation, your premium access continues until the end of the current period, and you will not be charged again.

Downgrading your plan may cause loss of access to premium features. MakeMyCVNow does not accept liability for such loss.

8. Refunds

Please see our Refund Policy for full details. In summary, because premium plans deliver digital content instantly, all premium purchases are final. Refunds are issued only for technical faults on our side (reported within 48 hours of purchase), duplicate charges, or unauthorized transactions. Premium plans do not auto-renew. Users in Norway/EEA who have not used any premium feature retain the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under the Angrerettloven (Right of Withdrawal Act).

9. Trials and Promotions

Any trial or promotional pricing applies only for the specified time period and to the specified plan. MakeMyCVNow plans do not auto-renew, so you will never be charged automatically at the end of a trial or promotional period — access simply ends and your account reverts to the free tier. We reserve the right to limit trials and promotional offers to one per user and to prohibit combining promotions. Promotional pricing is non-refundable.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to create fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive documents, upload illegal or infringing content, access other users' accounts or data, interfere with or disrupt the Service, use automated tools to scrape or extract data, or resell the Service without written consent.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that AI-generated content will be accurate or suitable for any particular purpose, or that the Service will meet your specific requirements. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MakeMyCVNow shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or business opportunities arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law — including Norwegian consumer protection law (Forbrukerkjøpsloven) and the Indian Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. MakeMyCVNow, in its sole discretion, has the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent behaviour, or fail to pay for premium services. Termination results in deactivation of your account and deletion of data per our Privacy Policy. In cases of termination for violation, you are not eligible for refunds.

14. Privacy

Your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using MakeMyCVNow, you agree to the Privacy Policy.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

15.1 Norway and the EEA

These Terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of Norway. Consumers may bring proceedings in their country of residence. You may file complaints with the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet) or use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

15.2 India

For users in India, these Terms are governed by Indian law. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in India. Consumer complaints may be filed under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

15.3 All other users

For users outside Norway and India, these Terms are governed by Norwegian law. Mandatory consumer protection laws of your country apply to the extent they provide greater protection.

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 15 days' notice by email or website posting. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.
